WHAT DOES BHS APPROVAL MEAN ? |
|
The British Horse Society (BHS) is the main body in Britain governing almost all equestrian sports and equine related
activities and has Her Majesty the Queen as its patron. To be put on the society's
Approved Establishment List
a riding school must prove that it meets the very
high standards required by the BHS. These standards cover every aspect of the Riding school, including; the quality of
the teaching, the qualification of the instructor(s), the level of first aid cover available, the standard of the facilities
as well as the welfare of the horses and the facilities for their care and supervision. School employees must also undergo
training in child protection issues. Once the correct levels of qualification and training have been achieved by the school
it must undergo a rigourous inspection by BHS staff before the coveted award can be made.
The BHS approval is a guarantee that the school can provide excellent training in a safe and welcoming environment with horses that are well cared for and in good health. CRS was awarded the approval status in 2002. To learn more about the BHS and its approval scheme click on the link BHS Website |
