SAFETY AT COACHMAN'S |
||
|
Safety is a high priority at Coachman's and you will see various safety notices around the yard which we would be grateful if you would follow. When you ride at Coachman's you will be fitted with a riding hat to the latest standard. If you bring your own hat we will have to check it first for fit and to make sure it is to the latest standard(s). these are PAS 015 or BSEN1384. If your hat does not meet these standards I'm afraid you can't ride in it. We will also check your footwear is suitable, ie. it has a good sized heel and is strong enough to protect you from too much damage if you accidentally get stood on by a horse! New children riders will generally have a leader until we are sure of their abilities. This will often apply to adults too, particularly out on hacks. The riding surface in the main arena is a mixture of sand with foam and rubber pieces making it a very soft and safe surface to land on to should you fall off. We have carried out a full suite of Risk Assessments to highlight the danger areas and to show the preventative measures required to reduce the risks. However, it is not possible to make horse riding completely safe, due partly to the fact that horses are not entirely predicatable and can act in unexpected ways. While at Coachman's please keep an eye on any children you may bring with you and supervise them at all times as there are dangers around from the other horses etc. Also, we ask you not to speak to the riders during their lesson as this can be distracting. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further information. You will be asked to sign that you have read and understood these conditions before you, or your child, are allowed to ride. |
